2 more days, 3.000 more words!

I'll so nail this! Yeah!!! A novel in a month! Run and try for yourself -- it's such an experience :)

44.550 words

Have landed two big translation jobs (17 pagers + 30 pages) The last one is Norwegian to English! Phew. So super happy, but oh so stressed, and inbetween my job and the translating, I write a novel! Living the hectic but good life!

Don't know what happened, but I managed 1.000 words on the train to work today!! 74 or something words shy of 43.500 :) Yeay for me!

Made it to 42.500 today, but moving slowly, slowly...... Not giving up, but as i'm doing a mystery, I need some order to the chaos pretty soon LOL

Finally got around to uploading a few LOs. Most are from our fab US vacation!!

Made it to 40.000!

Not much, but I wrote today! She got the keys and she is on her way to check out the appartement! That's all, but still quite a lot :) Thanks to my sweet, salsa-dancing sis for letting me know she's here!!

So 400 words shy of my goal for the week end! But with all the good times I had, I'm very happy! Getting harder to keep the words coming, as I now have to tie everything together, whilest I chould be throwing anything into the pot only a week ago. Still having fun, but using the little grey cells way more :)

Also got a few LOs done this week end. Need to start posting those again!!

Oh, and pretty much love the Mamma Mia film. Loved seeing with my DD even more!

More than 2/3 done!

Have been doing some heavy editing, but I am the kind of person who need things to be in order. (Not at home LOL, just in my text!) And as soon as I got that done, I was on a role again. Am currently at 35.387 :). Plan to reach 40.000 on Sunday.

My main gal is so exited! She inherited a 1956 Oldsmobile Holiday 88 hardtop coupe! I could hardly believe it myself!!

And I scrapped this week! Studio Calico kit for August have yielded 6 LOs so far. I cannot believe I let it go.....

Things are going a bit slower, but had a major break through this morning, figuring out how one of my gals will break into an appartment and discover clues, and also she will be guided through the fine art of breaking a password. Guiding will be done on the phone, but the experts tell me it is doable! Happy!

Dh is the best, by the way :)

School started yesterday and now I have all three kids in school. After a snag or two in the morning, all went well.

Today was another struggle. Have started editing, which is soo against the rules, and I end up spending my time alloted to writing on the little stuff, when I do not have the big picture. Forced myself today, and have done the first draft for half of a very difficult scene, with my gals, one of which is tied to a chair with a plastic bag over her head, is held by three Scottish thugs from Aberdeen. Believe me, they are spilling the beans as fast as they are able to figure out which beans the thugs are after!!

Slow today!

Reporting in at 23.500 words. Only managed 1.300 today, and worry that a day off broke my rythm. Hmmm. Also concerned about any lack of personality in my protagonist. She will seriously have to consider taking an interest in an old car in the garage, the local soccer team, card games and hard licquor or rock'n roll. Or any combination of the above. To name a few ideas. Also she was hi-jacked into joining her mother's bowling team this afternoon. Which is always something.

Still hacking away!

Did have a quiet day yesterday with visits from family. BUT, prepared by doing a good chunk on Tuesday and a little before our guests arrived. My word count is now 22.200 (and some). So still averaging more than 2.000 words per day.

My gals have hacked into the murder victimes inbox and found important clues. They also found it in their hearts to hand the information over to the police. The cleaning crew has cleaned out the hall after the scottish, wannabe IRA activist, bled to death two nights ago. Life could be going back to normal. - Or not.

New Personal Best!!

I'm at 19.667!!! If my ability to do math is anything to go by, I'm 333 words shy of 20.000. Yeay for me!! Have been back on the main plot today, with police on the first floor dealing with the dead body, and the gals having to handle police interviews and all. Have to say, they are smart chicks, and know how to get to the truth!! Well maybe not quite yet, but trust me, they will get there :)

DH is off to bed already -- I'll go join him :)

Outdid myself!

Not one for sticking it out or continue running after my breathing start hurting, I impressed myself by sticking with it tonight and actually coming up with the number of words needed to meet my goal for the day: 17.000 words!

Fortunately my gals were able to find baby Jesus on the back of a coca cola truck. And tomorrow I have a bowling team crisis to handle.

I reached 15.000

I know, I should be able to come up with more interesting stuff to say, but this month it is all about the writing. And I did my word quota early on in the day, and contrary to what I planned, I did not continue writing in the evening. Still -- ahead of the game and having fun :)

I should just re-name myself!

And what I should be called is "Writer-Girl"!! 13.241 words. Say no more!!! I am totally impressed with myself. So far..... I know this will get tougher, but right now I am ahead of the game, and almost one week into it! Did I mention I am having fun!!

Leaving 11.000 in the dust and moving on!

Wrote past 11.000 words last night, and going strong. Struggling with a fight scene, and ended up drowning one of my characters without meaning to. The others just had to get the thug in the trunk of the car before getting to him, and by then it was too late......

Love doing this. Love the progress of things. Love a new idea I had for introducing family and friends of my main protagonist. Will be returning to chapter 1 tonight (totally against NaNoWriMo rules *giggle*)

Closing in on 10.000

Have done no writing so far today, said for getting two dogs out of the way by sending them off on a camping trip with the cousing of the girl upstairs. Phew, the plot-holes one has to fix LOL.

Would love to stay and chat, but need to meet my word quota for today!

Broke 8,000 this morning!

I know -- who cares about this writing stuff but me!?? But posting about it keeps me going! And I'm having so much fun with this. My character hosted a dinner party in her new garden (since she iherited the house from her great-aunt. And she met the dog walker. And I had to do sexuan tension, and I think it worked!! And I had to do the actual fooling-around-part, and maybe that worked too:). Phew, this is hard work! Now I should really introduce some crime pretty soon, as this is supposed to be a mystery!

I'm at work, so this will do!

On word-counts!

Yes, word does it for me!!! And it is all about the NaNoWriMo program, on writing a novel in a month! 50,000 words worth of novel. Which breaks down to about 1,670 per day.

I'm on a roll!

Would you believe it!!! 6.391 words and going strong. The last count includes writing on the train in to work this morning, but as of day 2 I had a total of 5.410. My aim is for 2.000 per day, and anything above that is pure bonus. No struggle so far, just need to calm myself enought to let one idea fly at a time.

Will be spending my evening describing a dinnerparty in the garden where my protagonist meets her future lover for the very first time. And may the force be with me LOL.

Sorry for the no picture situation I have got going here. My Ashampoo program (if that is what it is called) is not responding. Don't know if it is sulking of what. Cannot get to my LOs our upload new ones to format and post. My hunk of a husband will look into it....

Up and running!!

First of all, thanks to all you sweet girls leaving me comments! Nice to know I'm not totally alone here in cyber space :). Norwegian scrappin' girls totally rock!

And -- I got my book started! 2,700 words of it! And I'm trying to follow the advice to send my inner editor off to editor-kennel LOL. I am having fun with this (which does not say all that much, as I have another 30 days to go, and will be sick of it for sure, but what the heck. Fun right now counts!!)

Getting started!!

Today is the day!! Obviously I am posting for the very first time on this blog (with a 5 year old constantly yappin' in my ear - and I mean in a really loud and insistent way!!). But this is also the day I start on my book!

So totally inspired by the NaNoWriMo consept, and the No Plot, No Problem! book i picked up on my equal to none vacation in Destin and Atlanta last month. (Will look up how to link to the site and the book :).

Wish me luck! I'll go looking for a café that will provide the quiet and the opening hours (and the tolerance for coffee drinking patrons) in about an hour. (Please refer to the above mentioned 5 year old, if you wonder why I go looking for somewhere else to sit than in from of the computer in the livingroom when I want to be wonderfully creative, fun and intellectual LOL).
